Department of Energy Visits BEES EFRC - Virtually

Dr. Craig Henderson, from the Department of Energy (DOE) Basic Energy Sciences and DOE Program Manager for the BEES EFRC, visited the center virtually on January 28, 2021.  Dr. Henderson participated in an interactive technical review presented by several BEES student researchers and spent some time meeting with BEES leadership.  Presenters and topics that were discussed included:

  • Derrick Poe – “Molecular Dynamics - Molecular Insight and Predictive Power”

  • Brian Doherty – “Ab Initio Molecular Dynamics of Deep Eutectic Solvents”

  • Stephanie Spittle – "Charge Transport and Dynamics in Deep Eutectic Solvents (DESs)”

  • Jeff Klein – “Deep Eutectic Solvent - Electrode Interface”

  • Nora Shaheen – “Insights into the Electrochemical Oxidation of Nitroxide Radicals in Ethaline Deep Eutectic Solvent”

  • Adam Imel – “Diffusion and Structure of Polysorbate-20 Stabilized Microemulsions”

  • Sara Hamilton – “Effect of NOHMs Addition on Zn Electrochemistry: Complexation and Near-Electrode Surface Effects”
