BEES Summer Seminar Series: What’s new in NOHMs?

Two researchers in the BEES EFRC, Sara Hamilton (left) and Sahana Bhattacharyya (right), presented updates on their research into NOHMs (Nanoparticle Organic Hybrid Materials).  NOHMs are unique structured fluids that have the potential to improve flow battery performance.  Hamilton discussed the center’s exploration of pH, salt addition, and secondary fluid modifications to tune NOHMs-based electrolyte chelating, physicochemical and electrochemical properties.  Bhattarcharyya talk was on how BEES is using nuclear magnetic resonance to investigate complex electrolytes such as Deep Eutectic Solvents and NOHMs.
