Job Description

Leslie is responsible for the smooth functioning of the academic affairs, service centers and institutes with the departments of Chemical and Biomolecular and Engineering, Macromolecular Science and Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. She manages departmental operating budgets, service center operating budgets and all gift and endowment funding based in the departments. She also authorizes expenditures, reconciles accounts and assists the administrative manager in the preparation of monthly forecasts and yearly budgets, departmental strategic planning, oversight of the day-to-day business workflow and management of all human resources-related work.

Key Job Functions

Develops and monitors policies and procedures for administrative support operations and develops best practices that efficiently support the research and academic administration of the departments
Manages budget activities, including approving expenditures, reconciling accounts, forecasting departmental expenditures and recommending courses of action
Assists administrative manager with monthly salary distribution
Reviews all appointments for accuracy and maintains database of all appointments
Handles reimbursement requests between Chair’s Assistants, research support staff and procurement personnel
