Biomedical engineering’s Zheng-Rong Lu named Gund-Harrington Scholar

Zheng-Rong Lu, the M. Frank and Margaret Domiter Rudy Professor of Biomedical Engineering, has been named a 2018 Gund-Harrington Scholar by the Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

Lu was selected for his work in nonviral gene therapy for Stargardt disease, which is the most common form of inherited juvenile macular degeneration.

The Harrington Discovery Institute collaborates with the Foundation Fighting Blindness on the Gund-Harrington Award to accelerate therapies for retinal degenerative diseases.
